Typical Conversion

Current situation and problem

A company has archived documents, checks, reports or data in a legacy system that resides on old media that may include hard drives, tapes, opticals, CDs, DVDs, diskettes, etc.

Over time, the reliability of this media becomes questionable and the hardware that reads the media will eventually fail or become unsupported. The media contains company information vital to ongoing operations and is governed by federally-mandated archival standards. Mitigating the risk of loss and liability is of prime concern.

Goldleaf solution

Goldleaf will take the client's back-up media upon which the legacy content is archived and convert the content from its proprietary format to a common format (typically TIFF for images and ASCII text for reports).

For imaging and check systems, we will extract indexes from the legacy system's database and associate those indexes with the corresponding image.

We will then prepare the target output with naming conventions so it can easily be imported and processed into the most current system. The converted images and indexes are returned to the client on media of their choice (typically CD or DVD).
